FAQ
Why should I move my business off captive supply and into the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM)?
Once you qualify as a contestable customer, the CREM gives you the freedom to pick a supplier and a plan that actually fits how your business runs — rather than accepting a one-size-fits-all rate. You can negotiate contract length, payment terms, and pricing structure around your real usage patterns, which is exactly what Skye Renewables helps clients do.
What kind of energy plans and pricing does Skye Renewables offer?
We build each plan around the client, not the other way around. After reviewing your load profile and business goals, we put together a pricing structure and energy mix designed to hit your cost and sustainability targets — no generic packages.
Where does Skye Renewables source its power?
Our portfolio blends conventional generation with renewable sources, so clients can dial in the mix that fits their sustainability commitments and budget.
Do I need be use a minimum amount of electricity?
No. There's no minimum offtake requirement — our contracts are built to flex with your actual consumption, up or down.
What actually changes for my business once I switch to Skye Renewables?
Skye Renewables takes over the generation charge at your agreed contract rate. Distribution and transmission charges are regulated, pass-through costs that continue as normal, but we consolidate them into a single monthly invoice on your behalf as the collecting agent — so you're not juggling separate bills.
Will I need a new power line or connection?
No new line is required. Your existing physical connection with your distribution utility stays exactly as it is — only the supplier of your generation charge changes.
How long does the switch to Skye Renewables take?
Your first switch typically takes up to 90 days to process. After that, subsequent switches move faster — often completed within a month, as long as all documentation is submitted on time.
Will my power be interrupted during the switch?
This depends on your distribution utility. For facilities served by MERALCO, a meter change typically causes no interruption to your power supply.
